A single thread is not enough to weave the solid path that MMCA — Malhas e Confeções, Lda., has travelled up until the present day. The ball of thread with which our memories are sewn is long and colourful, created with the same zeal and care with which we design each one of our items.
Our company, a major industrial and commercial centre in the district of Braga, founded in 1968, in Vila Nova de Famalicão, quickly established itself as a reference in the noble and historical national textile sector, mainly due to the deep knowledge of our founders and the hard and rigorous work of our employees, whom we cherish as family. The decades that followed were decades of deep change, and all of them witnessed the sustained and sustainable growth of the company that discreetly raised its high standards within the Portuguese textile industry.
Whenever one of our clients feels the comfort and quality of an MMCA item, they are proving that we have acquired a vast knowledge through the permanent will to excel that characterises us. All these years serving the textile industry have resulted in a range of exquisite, avant-garde and absolutely reliable products. Products from collections that do not just follow the trends of the fashion world, but anticipate and define them.
The fact that during the last decade we have gone beyond national borders and consolidated our position in such dynamic and demanding markets such as the United States of America, France and Spain, has contributed to the establishment of Famalicão as the third most exporting city in our country, which is proof of the vanguardism that we inherited from our founder.
In Portugal, the MMCA brand is the go-to local resource for main national retailers, reaching consumers on a daily basis through small and medium-sized traders, with whom we established a relationship of trust early on. This partnership, based on the knowledge we have of the sector, the quality of the raw materials that we use and the rigour that we guarantee in the manufacture and delivery of our products, have established us as textile producers of excellence, reinforcing the success story of this big family from Famalicão.
